NASA as made a great visualization of the world's ocean currents

You can see how the currents are flowing from Japan throughout the Pacific and beyond. So you can get an idea of how the radiation will actually spread around the globe.

Hey I'm for the first time here. I found this board and I find it very useful and it helped me a lot. I hope to give something back and help others like you helped me.

With Bio_Diesel, the SSI can

With Bio_Diesel, the SSI can simultaneously create fuel shortages, famine AND engine damage. That is a SSI Triple Play! Meanwhile cronyism and crony-capitalism move the funding to just 'the right sort' of pseudo-scientists. We the People are taxed, to subsidize 'going no where'.

Pass the Bio-Diesel fuelish fuel.

SSI 'science' is science fiction indeed!

I agree 100% on this!

Great Post

Great Post

Nicely done oceanographic work by NASA.

Has NASA returned to doing science? That would be a good thing, following the ludicrous 'global warming' fraud. NASA 'should be about' evidence based scientific endeavors.

Perhaps the DOE will initiate an allegiance to science, evidence, logic and the scientific method. To the best of my present recollection, the DOE has never exhibited such an affinity for science, though some of the heritage groups did have such a reputation, Long Long Ago.

Data Diddling is a bad thing.

IMHO

DISAGREE!!!

The DOE has done some EXCELLENT science and the DOE national labs are often referred to as the "crown jewels" in the USA's pantheon of scientific institutions.

DOE has done some real groundbreaking research and DOE labs continually get awards and honors from the scientific press / journals.

Consider LLNL recently received 6 "R&D 100" awards out of the total field of 100. That's just ONE DOE lab:

https://www.llnl.gov/news/newsreleases/2012/Jun/NR-12-06-08.html

I believe other awards were garnered by Oak Ridge and other DOE labs.

Science is alive and strong at the DOE labs; and always has been since they were founded.

Other DOE labs...

Oak Ridge garnered 9 "R&D 100" awards

http://www.ornl.gov/info/press_releases/get_press_release.cfm?ReleaseNum...

Lawrence Berkeley Lab won 4 "R&D 100" awards:

http://newscenter.lbl.gov/news-releases/2012/06/20/berkeley-lab-wins-fou...

as did Argonne National Lab:

http://www.anl.gov/articles/argonne-wins-four-rd-100-awards

Brookhaven got 1:

http://www.bnl.gov/chemistry/news/news.asp?a=1428&t=pr

So:

LLNL 6
LBNL 4
ANL 4
ORNL 9
BNL 1
----------
14

So 14% of the "R&D 100" awards went to 5 of DOE's laboratories.

That's real; not a work of fiction.

Fiction Indeed

Fraud beyond all measure.

Government 'science' is fiction indeed.

Whether conducted by the CCCP, Hugo Chavez and/or Barry Soetoro.

Fiction Indeed!

Banner Headline

Stop the presses!

The State Science Institute awarded the State Science Institute a grant.

Well now, THAT'S a shocker, NOT!

Is it for useless windmill generation, dead batteries or exorbitant photo-voltaic? No, it is MOX fuel implementations for old, defective, brittle, and corroded GE Mark-1 pseudo-containment systems.

Oh how wonderful!

Burning Food

No wait,

Stop the presses again!

Perhaps this is a State Science Institute (SSI) sponsored FOOD BURN project.

The SSI can fund ADM & the SSI to convert food (corn) & fiber crops into overpriced, low-energy, water-adsorbing, engine-killing fuelish gunk.

Next on the SSI fuelish menu ... Bacon-Fat diesel fuel. Bio-diesel is GUARANTEED to clog your automotive fuel injectors faster than it clogs heart vessels in a fat-girl.

The State Science Institute

The State Science Institute in Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged, was the government-run laboratory.

Ayn Rand stated repeatedly that the government had no business funding scientific research of any kind. The three controversies in which the Institute was involved each illustrated the two things that Rand feared most from such an Institute:

1. The perversion of scientific inquiry to serve purely political ends. If religiously motivated obscurantism annoyed her, then politically motivated obscurantism infuriated her.

2. The exploitation of scientific talent to the end of using brute force against a nation-state's subjects. Projects F and X illustrate this point. Governments do not create, but they can and do destroy. And when the government funds scientific research that is divorced from the production of things that people can use; that research will inevitably take a destructive direction.

The State Science Institute in Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged, was the government-run laboratory nominally directed by Robert Stadler but actually directed, in Machiavellian fashion, by Floyd Ferris. It figures most prominently in three connections: a meretricious report on the merits of Rearden Metal, the construction of the infamous Project X, and finally the construction of Project F, essentially a torture chamber where John Galt was briefly examined under duress until its electroshock generator failed.

Burning FOOD

Resistance is FUTILE

The ‘State-Science-Institute’ has decreed, via State Media, that ‘ALL must Burn their Food’, for the ‘Greater Good’. Gina McCarthy, assistant administrator for the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation, has DECREED, “We recognize that this year’s drought has created hardship in some sectors of the economy, particularly for livestock producers,” said. “But our extensive analysis makes clear “… waiver requirements have not been met.

The DECREE was lauded by ‘State-Sponsored’ Fuel suppliers POET and ADM.

Gasoline refiners will be required to blend 13.2 billion gallons of the biofuel this year, according to the 2007 energy law that established the national Renewable Fuels Standard. This year’s corn harvest is forecast at 10.725 billion bushels, the smallest in six years, because of the drought. About 4.5 billion bushels will be used to make ethanol in the year starting Sept. 1, or about 42 percent of the 2012 crop, the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimated on Nov. 9.

The governors of Arkansas, North Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Georgia, Virginia, New Mexico and Texas requested a waiver. The group included four Democrats and four Republicans. 100 California dairies could close or go bankrupt this year in part because of the cost of animal food. Anti-hunger and conservation groups, including the Environmental Working Group, Friends of the Earth and ActionAid USA, jointly said the decision "should serve as a wake-up call to Congress and the White House that the Renewable Fuel Standard does not protect producers and consumers in times of hardship and must be reformed."

"Let them Eat Cake"

According to the Washington Post-Bloomberg story, the EPA & DOE 'Analyses' show no cost impact from a +/- 42% change in USA CORN crop availability. Such statements are 'less than candid; and more than 'sparing with the truth'. Such assertions can only be regarded as a pack of gawdamn lies.

http://washpost.bloomberg.com/Story?docId=1376-MD0SJN0D9L3701-4L7K8AONJK...

"The EPA said an analysis conducted with the USDA showed that waiving the mandate would only reduce corn prices by about 1 percent. A review with the Energy Department indicated that a waiver would not affect household energy costs, the EPA said."

Lying, Looting, Deficits and Burning Food

Business as usual … for Team Obama

The net effect of this particular USA EPA lunacy will be: The USA borrows money from China, to import corn from Brazil, to BURN … unnecessarily! Incidentally, Japan will pay premium grain prices as a result of this lunatic federal action.
