Fukushima University to open radiation research center

FUKUSHIMA — Fukushima University will open a research center to study the environmental effects of the nuclear crisis that started last year. The center will study the long-term effects on the natural environment of radioactive substances released by the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.

The research center will be supported by such Japanese institutions as Hiroshima University, Nagasaki University, University of Tsukubam, in Ibaraki Prefecture, and the National Institute of Radiological Sciences. The research center will cooperate with overseas institutions, including a state university in Belarus that studies the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident, Takayuki Takahashi, vice president of Fukushima University, said at a press conference.

Long-term effects of Fukushima

Nice to hear

Nice to hear that there is going to be research.

I wonder if it will be biased based on the research funding....?
