Fukushima Lessons Learned
Sobering Lessons
The USA public has learned some sobering lessons from the Fukushima nuclear disaster, including:
The nuclear disaster evacuation increase from 25 to 50 miles was vetoed by George W. Bush.
Barack Obama threw the Strategic (anti-radiation) Drug Stockpile in the dumpster.
The defective-design GE Mark-1 nuclear power plant licenses were extended by 20 years.
Plutonium is approved as a commercial nuclear reactor fuel additive (MOX).
MOX fueled nuclear reactors are routinely approved for a 15% increased power generation level.
The USA, Canada and Mexico will not publish radiation contamination levels for food and water.
Radioactive fallout warnings will not be issued by the USA or the CTBO.
The nuclear power industry disaster response consists primarily in pathological lying.
Our nuclear power industry ‘servant’ has become a sociopathic ‘master’.
Lots of lessons learned from Fukushima, but no good lessons.

Job boss wanted dosimeters encased in lead
Tepco crisis workers faced exposure scam

Kyodo, AFP-Jiji
An executive at a subcontractor for Tokyo Electric Power Co. forced nine workers dealing with the crisis at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant to encase their dosimeters in lead, the company confirmed Saturday. The executive is believed to have tried to underreport radiation exposure, prompting the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry to launch an investigation on suspicion of violating the industrial safety and health law, officials said.
The unnamed executive, who is in his 50s and works for Build-Up, a construction firm based in Fukushima Prefecture, told the plant workers Dec. 1 to attach the lead plates to pocket dosimeters provided by Tepco to monitor their radiation exposure, the sources said. He said during questioning that he issued the instruction to them only once and that they worked at the site around three hours that day, according to the company. A newspaper reported Saturday that the executive told the workers they would quickly reach the legally permissible annual exposure limit of 50 millisieverts without faking the exposure level.
The workers reportedly recorded the meeting. "Unless we hide it with lead, exposure will max out and we cannot work," the executive was heard saying in the recording, the newspaper reported.

Personal Dosimeter
Anyone with potential radiation exposure should acquire a ‘personal’ dosimeter; in every sense of the word ‘personal’. Proudly display the ‘official’ dosimetry badge and discretely wear your own, truly ‘personal’ dosimeter. The ‘official’ badge is, rather frequently, a scam. Film type badges are typically falsified, by using pre-developed film. They will not change if you drop them inside a nuclear reactor.

False badges are a trick that is ‘as old as the hills’.

"We must . . . consider the psychological, social influences on the people" that is created by having fears about radiation and experiencing continued stress, Volodymyr Kholosha, head of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, told reporters in Tokyo.
"In that respect, objective and correct information on radiation should be disclosed to them," Kholosha said, referring to those being affected by the March 2011 meltdowns at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant.
Japan and Ukraine signed a cooperation treaty in April under which they will be able to swap information in areas such as decontamination, medical treatment and the mental rehabilitation of disaster survivors, according to Japanese officials.

Prime Minister Kan’s Secretary talks Fukushima Daiichi 1

Mitsuyo Matsuda, Prime Minister Kan’s secretary: One of lawmakers grabbed my arm and took me to his office at Congressional Office Building. A reactor designer who supported me said “‘Reactors are in very serious condition.’ How are we going to do?”, he asked. “We should directly talk with Mr. Kan, so let’s go to Prime Minister’s Resident together immediately.”, he said.
When I was taking an appointment with his secretary, Mr. Kan called me and said “I’m very busy, so talk to me on the phone right now.” “‘If you leave the reactors, they’re going blow up (everything) within 300 km.’ a designer of Unit 3 told us.” the lawmaker said.
Who was the designer of Unit 3? He was an ex-president of University of Saga, Mr. Uehara.

Matsuda: If all of them explode, they would blow up (everything) within 300 km by calculation, the lawmaker said. Why NISA didn’t inform such a important issue? They whispered later, nobody asked, so they didn’t tell. It’s unthinkable for us.

I think just firing Director General of NISA is not enough punishment.

Japanese Viewpoint
Local understanding
The Japanese people may believe, or wish to believe, that their government and/or royal family were ‘In the Dark’ about the Fukushima dangers. They may believe it on one level and not believe it on another. They may think one thing and say another. They may have been informed or uninformed in some obscure sense of the word. They may have been briefed ‘by question’ or analogy. They may have been ‘reassured’ while being ‘whisked to safety’. The Nippon are enigmatic about things; so who knows. It looks like the Japanese are trying to blame NISA, and exonerate the rest of their government.
From a BLUNT, Western perspective; unaffiliated with any USA government diplomacy; the Japanese national government was TOTALLY ‘up to speed’ on the Fukushima disaster. Japanese officials at the national level were briefed in real time regarding the reactor conditions and the dangers. They were briefed by industry, the USA, CTBO, their own agencies, experts and many others. Obama lied through his Gawdamned TEETH, about Fukushima, just like GWB LIED about contaminated tomatoes from Mexico.
But these matters are a purely Japanese subject. What the Japanese people think of their government, expect from their government or do about their government is the business of the Japanese. What the Japanese government denials mean to the average Japanese citizen is a local matter. ‘No’ may be understood to mean ‘maybe, what of it’, ‘yes’, ‘later’, ‘ask-the-other-guy’; or something else. The formal answer may be a question.

immune competence decline triggers new symptoms

Fukushima Radioactive Contamination Symptoms Research (FRCSR): The research and collection of data due to the Fukushima nuclear accident. We have a monthly report that can be viewed at the end of the month by anyone interested. Our website is not just for those affected by Fukushima but also for anyone in the world that may have been exposed to radiation. Our hope is to improve the situation of those who are suffering from radioactive contamination anywhere in the world. Please contact us by e-mail if you have any questions or valuable information on these matters.
This month a big characteristic is a change in the number of symptoms per person. The whole group saw an increase from 3.96 symptoms to 4.5 symptoms per person. The children’s group went from 3 symptoms to 3.6 symptoms per person. Also, the addendum to prior reports revealed progression of symptoms in the form of worsening symptoms or a new onset of symptoms. Both in the whole group and the children’s group, the top three symptoms were in bronchi, skin, and general, and the numbers have markedly increased. Also infections are increasing, suggesting decline in the immune competence. This decline in the immune competence is thought to be triggering the worsening of symptoms and the new symptoms.

I find it peculiar that the Russians maintain a barrage of propaganda about the US nuclear stockpiles, reactors, anything at all to do with nuclear materials. They are behind such sites as Enenews and the like. They even have their own cable TV network -RT- now working 24/7 to publish their propaganda. They even have their stooges publish comments on forums everywhere.
Yet they never mention Chernobyl or the MANY other accident sites that they are (IRR)responsible for or their use of chemicals or the tens of thousands that have died under forced labor mining and making their weapons. But then again GREEN is the complement of RED.

Japan leaders, utility slammed for 'man-made' nuclear disaster
An independent parliamentary commission accused the Japanese government and the nation's leading utility of "collusion" in avoiding vital nuclear safety improvements that would have prevented the reactor meltdowns last year at the tsunami-damaged Fukushima complex.
In its report based on 900 hours of testimony, the Japanese Diet's 10-member investigative panel accused government and industry leaders of having “betrayed the nation's right to be safe from nuclear accidents.”
The report, seven months in the making and at odds with government and industry accounts of culpability, coincided with the first nuclear power plant going back on line since all 50 of Japan's working reactors were shut down for inspection and safety upgrades. The first electrical energy from the No. 3 reactor at Ohi, in central Fukui prefecture, flowed into the national power grid Thursday, the Kansai Electric Power Co. reported Thursday.
Politicians called it "outrageous" that the government decided to restart two reactors at Ohi before the commission's report was issued and without completing all recommended safety improvements, including building a seawall around the reactor complex to protect it from the kind of tsunami that devastated the Fukushima plant.
...
Japanese nuclear regulators with the Nuclear Industrial and Safety Agency colluded with Fukushima operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. in willfully ignoring necessary safety upgrades, the report stated.
“Across the board, the commission found ignorance and arrogance unforgivable for anyone or any organization that deals with nuclear power,” the report said.
...
Recent opinion polls in Japan have shown at least 70% of the population want nuclear energy reduced or eliminated. Japan relied on nuclear power for about a third of its energy needs before last year's disasters.
Speaking, recording or doing research, forbidden STILL?
A-bomb doctor warns of further Fukushima woes
A 95-year-old retired doctor is continuing to warn of possible health dangers to residents near the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant after some of them developed symptoms similar to those afflicting atomic-bomb survivors he treated for decades. More than a year after the nuclear crisis erupted, Shuntaro Hida is busy giving lectures and interviews to make people aware of the danger of inhaling, drinking or eating radioactive substances.
The amount of research into and public knowledge about internal exposure to radiation is still limited because the United States "concealed" information about the problem for a long time after it dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, Hida says. Under the Occupation until the early 1950s, people were forbidden from "speaking, recording or doing research into symptoms of atomic-bomb survivors," he says. "I was stalked by the military police when I was talking about what I witnessed in Hiroshima," and arrested several times by the Occupation forces for "not abiding by their Occupation policy."
