E 39B: Introduction to Computational Engineering Science (1.5 Units, P/NP)

Course Description

  • This seminar introduces the program in Computational Engineering Science, a multidisciplinary field linking together elements of biology, chemistry, applied mathematics, physics, and all areas of engineering. The course includes a series of lectures and guest speakers with topics ranging from multidisciplinary real-world projects to introductions to modeling and simulation.

Course Assignments and Grading

  • Small projects illustrate the progression from problem definition to modeling to simulation to interpretation and comparison with experiment and observation. There are no prerequisites. Priority is given to Engineering Science students.
