"What's the difference between a nucleus and an elephant?: Using surrogate reactions to deduce neutron-induced reaction cross sections on radioactive nuclei "

Presented By

Lee Bernstein
Staff Scientist
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Dr. Bernstein received his B.A from Rutgers University in 1988, M.S. from the University of Maryland in 1990 and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from Rutgers University 1994. Since then he has been a post-doctoral researcher and staff scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Dr. Bernstein has performed experimental nuclear physics research at a wide range of facilities across the United States and Europe. His research is centered on low-energy nuclear structure and reactions important for both basic and applied nuclear science. His research program is currently taking place at the 88-Inch cyclotron at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory using the STARS+LIBERACE spectrometer.
