| COLLOQUIUM Monday, November 28, 2005 "Development of High Uranium Density Fuel for Research and Test Reactors" Presented By Dr. Daniel M. Wachs An aggressive effort is underway to convert research reactors worldwide currently using highly enriched fuel to low enriched fuels. In a joint effort, Idaho National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory are actively developing advanced fuels to enable this mission. This comprehensive program that includes fabrication development, out-of-pile testing, irradiation testing, and fuel performance modeling will be discussed. Coffee and Cookies 3:45 PM - Colloquium 4 - 5 PM Bio: Joined the Nuclear Fuels and Materials Department at Argonne (now INL) in 2002. Currently responsible for irradiation testing, post-irradiation examination and fuel performance modeling for the Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors (RERTR) program and INL lead for space reactor fuel development.
