Presentation Guidelines

The quick and dirty details:

  • Presentations should be NO MORE than 15 minutes long. There will be 5 minutes for questions at the end of your talk. If you go more than 15 minutes we will glare at you with resentment.
  • We will have available both traditional overhead projectors and LCD projectors. We will provide Windows-based laptops with Powerpoint 2000 for your use with the LCD projectors.
  • Our preferred method is for you to burn your presentation onto a CD. If it will fit on a floppy you may bring a floppy, but floppies are slower to access and we may have to change out the drive which will cause delays.
  • We really do prefer that you use our laptops and not yours.
  • A very good rule of thumb is one minute per slide and no more than three sentences per slide.
