NE Professor Lee Bernstein Receives Three Awards

Dr. Lee Bernstein, a Nuclear Engineering Department Adjunct Professor and LLNL employee, has been awarded a record THREE awards from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Physical and Life Sciences Directorate.

 


Professor Slaybaugh Quoted in The Scientist

Nuclear Engineering Professor Rachel Slaybaugh was quoted in an August 1, 2015 article in The Scientist.   The article, entitled "Get With the Program: DIY tips for adding coding to your analysis arsenal", provided tips and suggestions for introducing data analysis tools into research.   Professor Slaybaugh pointed out the importance of using version-controlled software and documenting code.  The full article can be read here:

 


Incoming NE Ph.D. Student Wins Best Poster Award

Nuclear Science and Security Consortium Fellow and incoming Fall 2015 UC Berkeley Nuclear Engineering graduate student, Daniel Hellfeld, won the JD Williams Best Poster Award at this year’s Institute of Nuclear Materials Management Annual Meeting. He recently completed an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University.

UCBNE at the Pacific Rim Forum on Earthquake Resilience of Nuclear Facilities

The Pacific Rim Forum on the “Earthquake Resilience of Nuclear Facilities” was the latest in a series of Pacific Rim Forum focused on nuclear enterprise issues around the Pacific Rim. The UCB Department of Nuclear Engineering originated these forums through the Berkeley Nuclear Research Center.
