- Diablo Canyon undergraduate coops and internships. The PRA group (and regulatory services) is searching for a 6 month co-op student starting ASAP. The PRA co-op would be helping with the development of a fire PRA among other things. If you know of any students looking for an opportunity like this, please have them contact me. If anyone is interested but can't apply because of the timing of the co-op, we should have some summer intern positions available this year as well. Contact: Nathan Barber, PRA Engineer, PG&E - DCPP, (805)545.4918; nrb2@pge.com
- Summer student internship at Chevron on nuclear issues. opportunity for one or two internships in the summer. We would pay the usual internship stipend which is substantial. As for projects in nuclear, the student would work with me to investigate subsurface nuclear logging problems of current research interest by using theory, Monte Carlo modeling and field data. The intern will be located in San Ramon, while remaining connected to UCB. Taking NE 290B would help but is not a requirement but a knowledge/experience of radiation transport modeling MCNP, diffusion theory and Sn methods, etc) is a must. Understanding of spectral data analysis will be extremely valuable. If the experience of internship is mutually satisfying, the intern will have an excellent chance of full-time employment in the future in Chevron.
